Quick Start
The complete flow a first-time operator follows in KIOPS, from login to the first service deployment. See the linked guides for details of each step. Just follow them in order.
- A KIOPS account (approved by your organization admin)
- Access info for the target infrastructure (device IP · SSH account, Kubernetes/Docker access)
- A Git repository (e.g. GitLab) containing the source to deploy
If you are on on-premises Basic, parts of this flow are narrower. Runtimes can only be connected, not installed, and the service source must be GitLab and the image registry Harbor. Check the notice at the top of each step's page, or see Plans and Feature Scope.
1. Log in · Organization approval
After signing up, you must be approved by the organization admin before you can log in. Until then, a "pending approval" notice is shown.
→ Details: Login & Sign-up
2. Register a device (server)
Register the target server. Once you register its IP and SSH account, later runtime/service/backup tasks reuse the credential without re-entering it. In jump-server environments, also register the upstream device to configure multi-hop access.
→ Details: Device Registration · Devices screen
3. Register a runtime environment
Register where the service will actually run — connect a Kubernetes cluster or a Docker host. It reuses the access info of the registered device.
→ Details: Register Kubernetes · Register Docker · Runtime Environments screen
4. Register a service
Register the application to deploy. Specify the Git repository URL and the target runtime. Add a source-repository access token if required.
→ Details: Service Registration
5. First build · deploy
Run the build and deploy from the [Service Management] page. Build the image with the build wizard, pass the security scan, and deploy to the runtime.
→ Details: Build Wizard · Kubernetes Deployment
6. Check status
In the [Dashboard], confirm the service turned Running. For badge meanings and responses, see the Status Reference. The deployment's security risk is shown as well.
→ Details: Dashboard · Security Analysis
Next steps
Once your first deployment is done, move on to the topics you need for operations.
- Operations: Log Monitoring · Container Management · Autoscaling
- Harden security: block vulnerable deployments automatically with the Security Gate
- Backup: Set up backup & recovery
- Teams & permissions: User & permission management
